A: SwitcheOn utilizes the 4G LTE Verizon Wireless network but you do not need to create a Verizon account. SwitcheOn takes care of the cellular interface so you never talk to anyone, ever, at Verizon. You can use SwitcheOn with any cell provider with the SwitcheOn smart phone app.

A: At SwitcheOn, we call the dangling outlet plugs "Channels." So a two channel box has two independently controlled plugs while a four channel box has four independently controlled plugs.

A: Yes you can. SwitcheOn was designed to be used outside and in fact SwitcheOn is very popular in Alaska where aircraft are parked outside all winter at tie-down posts that have power. So SwitcheOn sits outside all winter in very harsh conditions and performs fine.

A: Ever encounter a dead zone while talking to someone on your cell phone? Well, SwitcheOn is basically a cell phone so just like your phone, SwitcheOn can encounter radio frequency interference from noisy devices such as small refridgerators that are popular in small t-hangars. We recommend unplugging devices through a process of elimination. You can buy filter plugs to help reduce the electrical noise. You can get a remote antenna that Gallagher Aviation sells. A: If you blew the 15 amp fuse, SwitcheOn will need to be sent in for repair. Repairs are turned within a day so you won't be without it for long. Last February, I came back from a flight and plugged the plane back in. I'd forgotten to switch the SwitcheOn off and when I plugged in the ceramic heater I was using for cabin preheat, I heard a pop and the SwitcheOn was dead. Turns out, the heater cord had developed a short from flexing over the years (it's not used anymore for preheating). So I emailed SwitcheOn asking if there was an internal fuse I'd blown and where I could find it. Within an hour, Jake replied "For insurance purposes they're not user serviceable but we fix em for free." I shipped it back to Kansas with a note mentioning that the display was getting a little faint also. I got the unit back in a week, with a new display. Happy customer! Highly recommended.
